It’s so real…

By Riddle of the Sphinx Testimonials, Testimonials No Comments

Just wanted to say how stoked I am about this game…….this is so kewl. What a wonderful job the programmers did… I hope they did well financially over it they sure deserve it…

I feel so silly though about something…..hate to admit but I kept “circling” the base of sphinx trying to “get to pyramid”… <doh>… I just figured there was a path going to pyramid around some point of Sphinx… not… I finally… ( actually accidentally ) got into helicopter when I finally got frustrated and could figure out nothing else… and whala!!!!!!… I was at the pyramids… Its so real… I’ve never been to the pyramids but between the ambiance and the well done VR’s I feel like I’m there!!!!!!!!! 🙂 Had to share my joy with list… did everyone else feel the same way ? 🙂 later

We only wish there were more out there like ROTS.

My hubby and I finally finished the game. (took about 2 weeks). It was one of the best games we have played since The Myst which was our all time favorite. It was hard, but not illogical. The graphics were very nice also. Overall it was a great game. This is the first one we have come across that we even compared to the Myst. Thanks to all!! We only wish there were more out there like ROTS.

I can’t wait to get deeper into the game…

I have just gotten this game and so far it is everything that I expected it to be. I have always been interested in Egypt and it’s mysteries, and this game just tops it! I can’t wait to get deeper into the game. Everyone should play this game. I know a curse has been casted on me, the curse to not stop playing this game. Good job to all who helped make this game. I owe you.

I will certainly make certain my friends pick up copies…

Now THAT was an enjoyable surprise.

I just finished playing ROTS and loved every click of it.  I’m a 36-year-old Marketing Director who did not research the product prior to purchasing – just happened to be at Best Buy and was attracted to the packaging. I was elated to discover the game so reminiscent of traditional intellect-driven adventure games as opposed to the joystick-operated killing sprees so common today.  In fact, I hesitate to call it a “game.”  Much like Myst or Riven (and dare-I-say “Starship Titanic”) it transcends mere “gaming” and becomes an engrossing environmental “experience” – a challenge of the mind and not the trigger finger.  Much more aclimated to my own preference of sitting back and letting my brain do the work rather than a blood thirsty shoot-em-up.  And just plain fun.

Anyhoo…after an exhaustive but electric 48-hour marathon of puzzle-solving, I am left with 2 burning questions.  Since they’re not gaming questions, I hope you can answer them in lie of directing me toward a newsgroup or cheaters forum:

1)  Nice to have Jeff Tobler as the character, Gil.  However, his real-life lovely wife Karen is listed in the credits as “Lizzy Ketsworth.”  I don’t recall meeting, glimpsing, or hearing the voice of that character throughout the game.  Did I miss something?  The only item I was invited to open, but couldn’t (red herring?) was the mummy on the bed in the King’s Tomb.  If I left her in there, my humble apologies!!

2)  I know that programmers are notorious for including inside jokes, pictures, and hidden messages in their products.  Any you can share with me before I perform an uninstall?

Lastly, it’s not a burning question, but…why have I not seen anything of ROTS in GAMES Magazine?  Did I miss a plug, or do I need to write my favorite magazine a letter about their oversight.

BTW – If OMNI needs beta testers for the upcoming sequel, I’m a big fan and gladly volunteer!!

Again, thanks for a great experience – well worth the $19.95.  I will certainly make certain my friends pick up copies as well, and I look forward to your upcoming adventures!

Sincerely,
Robert Menezes

I savored the last as long as I could…

I want to thank everyone who helped me get through. It was a great game and I’m sorry it is over. I savored the last as long as I could. I will be getting another game but how will I play it without all the help I have had here? I really enjoy getting on line and reading all the emails of you who are playing. I can feel your frustration and remember mine. Thanks again to everyone. This 64 year old grandma has to go to bed. Happy Gaming,
